John 21: 18-23

  • 18 ) Verily, verily, I say unto you, When you were young, you gird yourself, and walked where you would: but when you shall be old, you shall stretch forth your hands, and another shall gird you, and carry you where you would not.

  • 19 ) This spoke he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he says unto him, Follow me.

  • 20 ) Then Peter, turning about, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrays you?

  • 21 ) Peter seeing him says to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?

  • 22 ) Jesus says unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? follow you me.

  • 23 ) Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die, but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you?

John 21: 18-23

  • 18 ) ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു: നീ യൌവനക്കാരൻ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ നീ തന്നേ അര കെട്ടി ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളേടത്തു നടന്നു, വയസ്സനായശേഷമോ നീ കൈ നീട്ടുകയും മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ നിന്റെ അര കെട്ടി നിനക്കു ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാത്ത ഇടത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

  • 19 ) അതിനാൽ അവൻ ഇന്നവിധം മരണം കൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും എന്നു അവൻ സൂചിപ്പിച്ചു, ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു: എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

  • 20 ) പത്രൊസ് തിരിഞ്ഞു യേശു സ്നേഹിച്ച ശിഷ്യൻ പിൻചെല്ലുന്നതു കണ്ടു, അത്താഴത്തിൽ അവന്റെ നെഞ്ചോടു ചാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു: കർത്താവേ, നിന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതു ഇവൻ തന്നേ.

  • 21 ) അവനെ പത്രൊസ് കണ്ടിട്ടു: കർത്താവേ, ഇവന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കും എന്നു യേശുവിനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

  • 22 ) യേശു അവനോടു: ഞാൻ വരുവോളം ഇവൻ ഇരിക്കേണമെന്നു എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അതു നിനക്കു എന്തു? നീ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

  • 23 ) ആകയാൽ ആ ശിഷ്യൻ മരിക്കയില്ല എന്നൊരു ശ്രുതി സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പരന്നു. യേശുവോ: അവൻ മരിക്കയില്ല എന്നല്ല, ഞാൻ വരുവോളം ഇവൻ ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നു എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അതു നിനക്കു എന്തു എന്നത്രേ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു.
